    Jackson Sentinel, Feb. 7, 1889

    DIED-

    TAYLOR-Mr. Ellison Taylor of Maquoketa, died on Wednesday morning January
30th, aged 56 years, 4 months and 3 weeks. He was born on Sept. 8th, 1832 in
Bolton, Warren County, New York and came to this vicinity with his parents in
the year 1849. He leaves a widow and three sons, a number of relatives and a
host of friends to mourn their loss. Quiet in his manners, a lover of his home,
affectionate in his disposition and an ever helpful neighbor, he will be greatly
missed by those who knew his worth. His funeral took place Friday afternoon Feb.
1st. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Langridge on Ecclesiastes 9:12,
"Man's ignorance of the future of his life."
