Submitted to the USGenWeb Project Archives on June 2nd, 1998. ====================================================================== "1878 History of Jasper County, Iowa", pg. 428 This regiment was organized at Camp Hendershott, Davenport, in the Summer of 1863, and ordered to duty against the Indians in Nebraska, Dakota, Colorado and Kansas. Portions of the regiment were engaged in the battles of White Stone Hill, Tahkahokutah, Bad Lands, Little Blue Julesburg, Mud Springs, Rush Creek, Horse Creek, Cow Creek and other engagements in which the brave Iowa boys fought gallantly. The regiment remained on the Plains fighting Indians until 1866; was mustered out at Leavenworth, Kansas 17 May 1866. COMPANY E Saddler, John H.
