SERVICES IN OXFORD JUNCTION FOR FRANK FISHER

Wife and five children survive; came here from Bohemia

Frank Fisher died early Friday, one week of attaining three score and ten years. 
Funeral services were held in the home and from Sacred Heart church, Rev. Joseph 
Gregor officiating. Mr. Fisher was born in Bohdanec, Bohemia, July 15, 1869, a 
son of Frank and Mary Fisher. When 17 years of age he came to this country first 
living in Dubuque, then to Cedar Rapids, where he followed his trade as a baker, 
then to Oxford Junction. He was employed by the railroad, then farmed for a 
number of years. It was in 1920 that he tired and moved to Oxford Junction.

On October 21, 1893, he was married to Mary Fatka of Dubuque, who died April 27, 
1915. Six children were born to their union, five of whom survived their 
mother's passing, one son, Frank having died. On May 23, 1921, he was married to 
Barbara Benda at Cresco. Surviving his passing, besides his wife are five 
childre: Joe Fisher of Mt. Vernon, Mary Pegarick of Lost Nation, Agnes Conley of 
Monticello, Bessie Hendricks of Lakeport, California and Louis of Wheatland; one 
sister, Mrs. Joe Petrus of Cedar Rapids, besides several grandchildren also 
mourn his loss.

Mr. Fisher was a member of the Catholic faith and a member of Sacred Heart 
church. He was a lover of music and that trait found expression in his band 
work. Interment was made in the Mayflower cemetery
