Obituary of Lester Balle Dumenil Daily Gate City, Keokuk, Iowa Monday, February 24, 1969 LESTER B. DUMENIL DONNELLSON - Lester B. Dumenil, 79, of Argyle RFD died Sunday at 1 a.m. in Memorial hospital at Carthage [Hancock County, Illinois] where he had been a patient two weeks. Born May 23, 1889 [should be May 28] in Argyle [should be Vincennes?], he was the son of Robert [actually Marion Franklin Dumenil, who was called "Bob", hence the confusion] and Alice Herron Dumenil. He married Marguerite V. Taylor who preceded him in death January 22, 1964. A farmer, he was a member of the Argyle Presbyterian church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Jean) Hurwitz, of Carthage; a brother Leslie, of Argyle RFD; a granddaughter, grandson and three step granddaughters. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a son Keith, February 1 (21?), 1964. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Miller Home for Funerals with the Rev. Edward By--[illegible] officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Keokuk.
