Obituary of Louis Volney Dumenil Daily Gate City, Keokuk, Iowa January 4, 1930 L.V. DUMENIL DIES FRIDAY AT MONTROSE Louis V. Dumenil died at his home in Montrose, Iowa last night at 11:50 o’clock after an illness of several months. Mr. Dumenil was eighty-seven years old. He was born February 28, 1843, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Jean Baptiste and Francis Ballay [sic] Dumenil. In May of 1853 he came with his parents to Keokuk, and then they settled on a farm at Charleston. On February 22, 1880, he was married to Frances Makinney who survives him, together with one son, John D. Dumenil of Keokuk, and one daughter, Mrs. Marie Horner of Montrose. One son, L.W. Dumenil, died five years ago. For some years the family’s home was at Argyle, and in April 1918 the family moved to Montrose where they have since resided. Mr. Dumenil was a member of the Joppa lodge of Masons.
