The simple inscription says: IHS LUETKEHANS FATHER BORN 1815 DIED 1877 MOTHER BORN 1830 DIED 1921 Additional Comments: Anna Marie "Mary" Brockpals was born in Westphalen, Germany, October 3, 1830. Henry Joseph Luetkehans was born in Westphalea, Germany in 1815. They were united in marriage at Nuenkirchen, Germany, on January 16, 1850. They emigrated to the United States, landing at New Orleans on December 31, 1852, and the following April they came to West Point, Iowa where they bought a 140 acre farm. Henry passed away October 21, 1877. Mary passed away January 9, 1921 in the same log cabin she and Henry built 69 years earlier in 1852. Mary's second marriage was to Henry Arns, which took place February 8, 1882. He preceeded her in death in 1912.
