Kathleen M. Wright, 50, of Swisher, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the 
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics due to injuries sustained from a car 
accident on Oct. 4. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 
with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral 
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with a visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m., 
at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha, with Father Mark Ressler 
and Deacon Dennis Mulherin officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial 
Park Cemetery. 

Kathleen Marie Wright was born on March 1, 1962, to Caroll and JoAnn (Murphy) 
Clauson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Bruce David 
Wright on June 3, 1989, in Cedar Rapids. She was employed with Cedar Rapids 
Schools for many years. Kathy was a member of the Swisher American Legion and 
Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering, traveling, making jewelry, her 
pets, shopping, the Iowa Hawkeyes and was an avid camper. Kathy loved spending 
time outside and driving her golf cart. Kathy was great at remembering all of 
the special occasions of her friends and family. She loved all children and 
most of all her own children were her pride and joy. 

Survivors include her loving husband, Bruce; children, Bruce Jr. and Brittany 
Wright, all of Swisher; brothers, Gregory (Kathi) Clauson of Hiawatha and 
Michael Clauson (Wendy Smith) of Cedar Rapids; father and mother-in-law, Ben 
and Joan Wright of Swisher; special aunt, Katie Wulf of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 
sisters-in-law, Debra (Charles) James of Urbana, Shawnee (John) Owens, Sheryl 
(Allan) Novak, Peggy (Larry) Kacher and Nancy (Joseph) Justice, all of Cedar 
Rapids; brothers-in-law, Ben (Cyndi) Wright Jr. of Cedar Rapids and Jeff 
(Tammi) Wright of Swisher; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-
nieces and great-nephews. 

Kathy also had many life long friends that were close to her heart. 

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Bill and Mary 
Murphy and Sam and Nellie Clauson. 

A memorial fund has been established.
