Pvt. Frank J. Balsanek 

Cedar Rapids, Iowa 

Born in Bohemia, June, 1890. Son of Mary and Anton Balsanek. Volunteered July 
24, 1917. Rainbow Division. Wounded July 25, 1918 and again October 14, 1918. 

Additional Comments:
Frank Joseph Balsanek, was born June 19, 1890. He died Oct. 26, 1952, Corpus 
Cristi, Texas. Buried next to his first wife, Anna, at St. John's Cemetery in 
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His second wife, Barbara Marie (Funcke) Balsanek is also 
buried in the same family plot.
