Maj. Charles H. Cogswell, Jr. 

Cedar Rapids, Iowa 

Born in Clinton, Iowa, October 9, 1877. Son of Mary W. and Charles H. Cogswell, 
Sr.  Graduate State University of Iowa, B. S., M. D.  Entered service May, 
1915. In France Medical Corps. Hospital Surgeon in Paris nine months. Drove 
ambulance six months during battle of Verdun. Enlisted in American Army, 1917. 
In service until May, 1919, as Post Surgeon.
