Pvt. Richard Cole Conaway 

Cedar Rapids, Iowa 

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, February 22, 1895. Son of Minnie and Freeman Richard 
Conaway. Volunteered April 13, 1917. Army, Co. D, 168th Regiment, 42nd 
(Rainbow) Division. Was in Battle of Badonvillers, Aisne, Marne Defensive, 
Chateau Thierry Drive. Wounded July 27, 1918.
