Additional Comments: Image has been optimzed. ------------------------- The Cedar Rapids Gazette Fri., Feb. 2, 1951, pg. 11 Dr. Paul Hanzlik Dies in California __Dr. Paul John Hanzlik, 65, former Cedar Rapids resident, died Thursday afternoon at San Mateo, Calif. Until his retirement in 1950, Dr. Hanzlik was head of the pharmacology department of Stanford university school of medicine, where he served as a professor since 1921. __Born near Shueyville, Dr. Hanzlik attended Coe College, recieved his A.B. (sic.) degree at the University of Illinois and M.D. at Western Reserve. He also taught at Western Reserve and in 1914 did graduate work at the University of Vienna. __ Dr. Hanzlik had served as vice-chairman of the American Dental Association since 1929. __Surviving are his wife, the former Bertha Shimek; a son, Dr. Harold Hanzlik of San Mateo; a daughter, Mrs. Dean Hoskins of Oakland; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. L. A. Kessler, Mrs. Carolyn Shonka and Mrs. John Trosky, and a brother, Milo, all of Cedar Rapids. __Services and burial were at San Mateo Friday afternoon.
