Additional Comments: Image has been optimized. ************** The Cedar Rapids Gazette Thurs., Jan. 15, 1959, page 2, col. 5. Dr. Rudolph Vorpahl, Former Coroner, Dies __Dr. Rudolph A. Vorpahl, 76, physician for more than 50 years and a resident for 47 years, died Wednesday. Born July 11, 1882, in Milwaukee, he served in the army in World war I. Surviving are his wife, Florence, and a brother of Darien, Wis. __Dr. Vorpahl was graduated from Marquette university in 1905. He was a member of American Medical Assn., St. John's Episcopal church and the Episcopal Men's Club of Iowa; Elks; Mt. Hermon lodge, No. 263, AF and AM; Iowa Consistory; El Kahir Shrine, and the American Legion. He was a coroner for 14 years prior to 1934 and received a 50-year citation from the Linn County Medical Society. __Services: St. John's Episcopal church at 1:30 Saturday by Rector D. A. Loferski. Burial: Union cemetery, Milwakee, Monday morning. Friends may call at Beatty-Beurle's after 7 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Saturday. __The family requests that friends, if they so desire, contribute to the St. John's Church Memorial fund. *************** The Cedar Rapids Gazette Fri., Jan. 16, 1959, page 6, col. 3.
