      Louisa County's First Born
   Muscatine has for some time been the residence
of the first white child born in Louisa county. 
John McCleary, who has recently been employed in
the Hershey Co.'s mills, is the man.
His father, "Squire Abraham McCleary, came from
Jefferson county, Ohio, in the spring of 1836 and
settled near Grandview, where he still resides, and
John was born in the fall of 1836.
   On account of the mills shutting down, Mr. 
McCleary is about removing to Louisa county.
