Betty Louise (Hoffman) Bechler was born May 2, 1930 in Luverne, MN the 
daughter of Harry and Ella (Koll) Hoffman.  On October 8, 1949, she was united 
in marriage for sixteen years to Clarence Luenberger in Luverne, MN.  She was 
unite in marriage to Leo Bechler Sr. on March 26, 1966 in Jackson, MN.  Leo 
died on April 2, 2005 which ended their marriage of thirty-nine years.  Betty 
was an active member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George and when 
her health prevented her from attending she watched he service on television.  
She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, old telvision series and soap operas.  She 
especially loved spending time with her family and her cat.  This past Monday, 
April 24, 2006, Betty died unexpectedly at her home in George, IA at the age 
of seventy-five.
She is survived by her twelve children: Tom (wife Mavis) Hoffman of Ocheyedan, 
IA, Bill (wife Mavis) Luenberger of Boyden, IA, Dave (wife Cheryl) Luenberger 
of Liberty, MO, Mary McDermott (Tim Fredricksen) of Westfield, IA, Mike (wife 
Gwen) Luenberger of Waterloo, IA, Tim (wife Laurel) Luenberger of Thornton, 
CO, Barb (husband Guy) Hollenbeck of Alvord, IA, Shelly (husband Randy) 
Janssen of Sibley, IA, Jim (wife Sandy) Luenberger of George, IA, Leo Jr. 
(wife Pam) Bechler of George, Dan (wife Christine) Bechler of Sibley, and 
Richard Bechler of Cushing, IA; twenty-three grandchildren; fifteen great-
grandchildren; one brother, Harry (wife Laura) Hoffman of Sioux Falls, SD; two 
sisters, Jean (husband John) Frahm of McLean, VA and Helen Prusia of Ankeny, 
IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ella Hoffman; husband 
Leo Bechler Sr.; and a brother Stanley Hoffman.
