Robinson died at his home in Doon, following a 2-week illness of flu. He had been member of Doon Congregational Church and Rock River Masonic Lodge. Born 1852 in Pennsylvania, he married Carrie Mason Nov 7, 1881 at River Falls, Wisconsin. To the union was born one son, Joseph Herbert, who died at the age of 11 years. In 1896, David signed a 14-month contract to drive a dog team and carry provisions from Skagway, Alaska, across Chilcott Pass and farther north. Then he prospeced for gold until his health failed. Upon recovering, he returned to his wife in St. Paul Minnesota. The couple then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where David managed a coal and flour business for 12 years. They moved to Doon, Iowa, in 1917. Mrs. Robinson operated a millinery shop there many years. Additional Comments: David Robinson was the son of Joseph Turney Robinson and Eliza R. Mann Robinson.
