She was united in marriage to William Oscar Creger of Truro at her parents home on December 17, 1890 and to this union two sons were born, Merrill S. of Truro and John Theodore who passed away April 28, 1912 at the age of seven years. Before her eighteenth birthday she received a certificate and began teaching in the schools of the county, teaching until her marriage in 1890. She gave her heart to God when a young girl and united with the Baptist church which was located near her girlhood home. She remained a faithful member until her marriage when she transferred her membership to the Methodist church and has remained a steadfast Christian. Her husband passed away June 6, 1941, they having celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1940, and soon after her health began to fail but she has been able to remain in her home during the summer months and spending the winters with her son and family. Her condition became much more serious a few days before Christmas and all that loving hands could do were done by the son and his wife who have so tenderly cared for her during all her illness. Her great joy and pleasure was her grandson, George Oscar. She has lived a true Christian life and was never happier than when working in the church, but she needs no eulogies for her life in this community has been a testimony for her Savior. But as we think of her we know she is not dead but has just gone on ahead and will be waiting to welcome us to the Eternal Home. The life she lived was true and honest. Always to each soul a friend.
