OBITUARY: Bertha Marie Rossum Ask, Mitchell County, Iowa Bertha Marie Rossum Ask (1883-1979) [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 13 SEP 1979 ] Bertha Ask Rites At First Lutheran Tuesday, September 4 Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Ask, 95, formerly of Osage, were held September 4 at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. Mrs. Ask died September 1 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, where she had resided since 1969. The Rev. Stephen Engelstad pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bertha Marie Rossum was born September 19, 1883, in Mitchell County, the daughter of Torger and Martha Bentestuen Rossum. Wilhelm Bernhardt Ask and Bertha Rossum were married November 29, 1904. They established their home west of Osage, where they farmed until retiring to Osage in 1943. She was a member of the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, all of Osage, Truman, Manville, and Mrs. Myrtle Seeber, eight grandchildren, also 15 great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
