OBITUARY: Lawrence H. Brost , Mitchell County, Iowa [ Marshfield News Herald, Marshfield, Wisconsin, Tuesday March 28, 1995 ] Lawrence H. Brost Lawrence H. Brost, 89 of Marshfield, died at 2pm July 19,1995 at the Bethel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the town of Richfield. He had been a resident there since Feb 17, 1994. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel, pastor, will officiate. Music will be provided by Helen Brinkman, organist for St.John's Church Funeral Choir. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Grandchildren and relatives will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be at 6pm Sunday at Rembs Kundinger Funeral Chapel and again on Monday until time of service. St John's Parish Rosary Service, combined with the Knights of Columbus, John Eisen Council No. 1799. Rosary Service, will be held at 7:30pm Sunday at the funeral chapel. He was born August 10, 1905 in Stacyville, IA to Lambert and Margaret (MAY) BROST. He married Viola PATRIE on June 23,1931. Her death was November 8, 1953. He later married Beverly Muir HAAS, from whom he was divorced. He was educated in Stacyville schools and St. Andrew's Parochial School in Rozellville, WI. He moved to the Rozellville area with his parents in 1919. As a young man, he farmed with his parents in the town of Day, later to become employed by the former Clover Cream Dairy and Marshfield Milling, which today is Prince Corp. He later resided in Loyal, (Clark Co.), WI for 10 years, returning to the Marshfield area in 1988. He lived in Marshfield until entering the nursing center in February 1994. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He is survived by two sons; Derold (Virgean) BROST and Glenn (Kathleen) BROST, all of Marshfield; four daughters, Ardell(Dennis) KOHLER of Milwaukee, Mary (Patrick) McDANIELS of Oregon, WI, Gail(DuWayne) MATHES of Onalaska, WI, Lana (Chris) BUDDHU of Maple Grove, MN, 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
