OBITUARY: Viola C. Dockstader, Mitchell County, Iowa (St. Ansgar Enterprise-Journal, St. Ansgar, Iowa, 27 FEB 1992) Viola C. Dockstader [1898-1992] Surnames: Dockstader, Woods, May Funeral services for Viola C. Dockstader, 94, who died Feb. 20 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaraitan Center, were held Feb. 24 at the Otranto Community Church, Otranto, with SAvid Schmidt officiating. Viola C. Dockstader was born Jan. 15, 1898 to William and Kitty (Woods) May in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated fro Eddyville High School, Eddyville, and State Teacher's College at Cedar Falls. She taught for many years in the Mitchell County Schools, retiring in 1963. September 25, 1918 she married Arthur Dockstader, Otranto, in Northwood. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, one brother and five sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cecil (Marian) Blank, Garner, and Mrs. Pete (Gretchen) Gomez of Mason City.; one sister, Mrs. Albert (Hazel) Pettitt, Austin, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, Robert Abele, Farmington, Minnesota; Dean Abele, Northfield, Minnesota; Beverly Kester, Greene, Caryl Putzstuck, Wesley; Toni Baltierra, Rita Muniz, Tom Gomez, Mason City; Karen Navarro and Debra Navarro, Rochester, Minnesota; Mary Garcia, Des Moines and Bruce Gomez, Ankeny; 3 step grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren. Burial was in Woodbury Cemetery.
