OBITUARY: Shirley Margaret (Richsmann) Dougherty, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press-News -- www.mcpress.com -- Posted Aug. 28, 2001] Shirley Margaret (Richsmann) Dougherty [1935-2001] Funeral services were held Monday, August 27, 2001 for Shirley Margaret (Richsmann) Dougherty, age 65, of West Wilford Street, Grafton, West Virginia. Military rites at the graveside were conducted by VFW, American Legion and DAV of Grafton, WV. She died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001 at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. Shirley was born on Aug. 31, 1935 in Osage, Iowa the daughter of the later Robert Charles and Leona (Ruehlow) Richsmann. She retired from the U.S. Army with 20 Years of Service in 1992. She was previously employed as City Clerk for the City of Grafton, WV. She had also been employed by Sears Co. and Musgroves Mill and the Grafton Sentinel Newspaper both of Grafton. She was a member a Past Commander of the American Legion, Taylor County Post # 12, Ladies VFW Memorial City Post #3081, former member of the Grafton Volumteer Fire Dept. and board member and secretary of the Taylor County Little League. She was also a member of the Church of Covenant-Lutheran of Grafton, WV. Those that survive her include two daughters, Eileen Greynolds and husband Joey of Grafton, WV and Carolyn Riddle of Clarksburg, WV; three sons, Tom Dougherty and wife, Peggy of Grafton, WV and Rich Dougherty of Naples, Florida, Bob Dougherty and wife, Misty of Sarver, PA; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; three sisters, Barb Frohling and husband Ver of Story City, IA, Kathy Michael and husband, Roger of Charles City and Mona Hedegard and husband, Rod of Manly; several nieces and nephews.
