OBITUARY: Flora Ada (nee Priem) Gerdts, Mitchell County, Iowa (St. Ansgar Enterprise-Journal, St. Ansgar, Iowa, 27 FEB 1992) Flora Ada (nee Priem) Gerdts [1914-1992] Surnames: Gerdts, Priem, Senger, Seminario Flora Ada (nee Priem) Gerdts was born January 28, 1914 on a farm in Newburg Township, Mitchell County, the daughter of Edward Priem and Ada Brandt Priem. She was baptized into the Christian faith February 15, 1914 at home by the Rev. Paul Brammer with Alma Brandt as her sponsor. She confirmed her baptismal vows on August 19, 1928 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, having been instructed by the Rev. Paul Brammer. She graduated from the Carpenter High School and Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota. While teaching school in South Dakota and Minnesota, she attended summer school at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul. On October 24, 1940, she married Bernard E. Gerdts at her parent's home by the Rev. Paul Brammer. This union was blessed with three children: Bruce, Bereneice and Kathleen. They started out their marriage near Waldorf, Minn. and in 1946 moved to the farm near St. Ansgar where they lived for the remainder of their lives. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the Mary Circle. Due to Failing health she was hospitalized and departed this life on February 16 at the age of 78 years, 18 days, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage. She leaves to mourn, her son Bruce of St. Ansgar; her daughters, Bereneice Seminario of Glendale of Glendale, Calif., and Kathleen Gerdts-Senger of St. Cloud, Minn.; seven grandchildren; Michael, Lori, and Douglas Gerdts, St. Ansgar; Nicole Seminario, Glendale, Calif.; Luke, Jared and Sara Senger, St. Cloud, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Burial was at St. Ansgar Cemetery.
