OBITUARY: Robert Leo Greiner, Mitchell County, Iowa (St. Ansgar Enterprise, 9 MAY 1991) Robert Leo Greiner [1916-1991] Surnames: Greiner, Bedford, Copeland Funeral services for Robert Leo Greiner, 75, of Austin, Minnesota, who died Thursday, April 25 in a pickup accident south of Austin, Minnesota on highway 105, were held Monday, April 29 at the First Baptist Church in Austin with the Rev. Allan Flint officiating. Bob Greiner was born March 20, 1916 in Floris County to Elsmore and Cora Mae (Copeland) Greiner. At the age of six he moved with his family to the Carpenter area where he grew up on a farm southwest of there and attended Carpenter school. June 25, 1938, he was married to Blanche Bedford of Lyle in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. To that union were born four daughters. He had worked for the George A. Hormel and Company for 33 years upon retirement. In 1946 he accepted the Lord as Savior and was baptized in August of 1947. He attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Lyle until 1965. For the past 26 years he was an active member in the First Baptist Church in Austin. he was president of faith Bible class and a board member of the Woodbury Cemetery Association. He is survived by his wife, Blanche of Austin, Minnesota; four daughters, Mrs. Hilmore (Georgia) Williams; Mrs. Richard (Betty) Grinstead, Mrs. Warren (Bonny) Troavs and Rebecca Pepper of Austin, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Inez L. Huber, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Ruth Belz of Annadale, Minn.; Hazel Petznick of Fairfield, Wisc., Faye Severson of Austin, Minn., Dorothy Hulshizer of Maustom, Wisc.,and Louise Kirchgatter of St. Ansgar,; five brothers, Louis of Oklahoma City, Okla., William of St. Ansgar, Glen of Hernando, Florida, Verlin of Pauls Valley, Calif., and James of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one brother and four sisters.
