OBITUARY: Gertrude (King) Heimer, Mitchell County, Iowa [ Mitchell County Press online at www.mcpress.com 6/13/2001 ] Gertrude (King) Heimer [1936-2001] Funeral services were held Friday, June 8, 2001 at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, for Gertrude Heimer, age 66, of Stacyville. Rev. Joseph Schneider officiated and burial was in the Visitation Cemetery. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar in charge of arrangements. She died Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Gertrude was born Aug. 26, 1936 in Taopi, MN to John and Rose (Wettstein) King. She married LaVerne Heimer on Sept. 20, 1955 in Adams, MN. She lived most of her married life in Stacyville. Her greatest joy was visiting with family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband. Those that survive her include one daughter Deb Lange and husband Dan of St. Charles, MN; two sons, Doug and wife Jeanie of Rock Falls, IA, Dave and wife Michele of St. Ansgar; eight grandchildren, Jake, Justin, Cole Heimer; Travis, Brittney and Shane Lange; Jordan and Derrick Heimer; five sisters, Mary Ann Heimer of Adams, MN, Evy Bimberg of St. Louis Park, MN, Bernice Horn of Coon Rapids, MN, Bernette Willenbring of Anoka, MN, Diane Christie of Rochester, MN, three brothers, Ernie King of Austin, MN, Bud King of Clear Lake and Bill King of Rochester, MN and Robin Bowers who was her special friend and caregiver. ************************************************************** Copyright (c) 2001 by Kermit Kittleson.
