OBITUARY: Clarice (Paulson) Hein, Mitchell County, Iowa

               Clarice (Paulson) Hein [1913-2001]

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2001, 2 pm at Our Savior's
Lutheran Church, Osage, for Clarice Hein, age 88, of Osage. Rev. Dennis Hanson
and Rev. Roy Ott will officiate. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home with
the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 pm. and a prayer service at 8 p.m.
On Thursday visitation will be one hour before the services at the church.

Clarice died Thursday, June 7, 2001 at the Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.
She was born Feb. 8, 1913 on the family farm in Union Township Worth County,
the daughter of Peter and Anna (Schoger) Paulson. She attended rural school
in Worth County and graduated from Osage High School in 1931. Clarice was
united in marriage to Edwin Hein of New Haven on Aug. 17, 1935. Clarice was
baptized, confirmed and married by Rev. O.C. Myre at Rock Creek Lutheran
Church, rural Osage. They lived on a farm near New Haven until 1942 when
they purchased and moved to a farm in Burr Oak Township. They lived there
until 1980 when they retired and moved to their new home in Osage. Clarice
was employed at the Faith Lutheran Home for 15 years and continued to do
volunteer work there for another 15 years. She was a member of Our Savior's
Lutheran Church, Elizabeth Circle and held offices in the circle. Clarice
served as secretary to local W.M.F. and also served on the conference board.
She was a member of Faith Home Auxiliary.

Preceding her in death were her parents. Those that survive her include
her husband Edwin of Osage; a daughter Carol Dill and husband Gordon of
Salinas, CA; three sons, Russell Hein and wife Gloria of Little Cedar,
Bob Hein and wife Ann of Winfield, IL and Allan Hein and wife Janis of
Prairie du Chien, WI; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
