OBITUARY: Sylvester J. Hemann, Mitchell County, Iowa [ Mitchell County Press www.mcpress.com July 3, 2001 ] Sylvester J. Hemann [1922-2001] Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, 2001 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Philip Recker officiating for Sylvester J. Hemann, age 78, of Osage. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of arrangements. Sylvester died Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at the Faith Lutheran Home, Osage. Sylvester was born December 23, 1922 in Meyer, Iowa the son of Edward and Lena (Klapperich) Hemann. He was united in marriage to Delores Dostart on June 1, 1949 in New Haven. Sylvester farmed, worked at Farmers Produce and the Iowa D.O.T. retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight. Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Marlys Ferry in 1987; two sisters and three brothers. Those that survive him include his wife Delores of Osage; a daughter Debra Felton and her husband John of Sioux Falls, SD; five sons, Gary Hemann and wife Marjorie of Woodward, Daniel Hemann and wife Nancy of Grundy Center, Lynn Hemann and wife Rhonda of Osage, Douglas Hemann and wife Crystal of Grundy Center, Timothy Hemann and wife Denise of Le Grand, IA; son-in-law C. Dennis Ferry of St. Augustine, FL; a brother Larry P.
