OBITUARY: Paul Johanns, Mitchell County, Iowa [ Mitchell County Press online at www.mcpress.com 6/5/2001 ] Paul Johanns [1914-2001] Funeral services were held Friday, June 1, 2001 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage for Paul William Johanns, age 86, of Osage. Rev. Philip Recker officiated and interment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. He died Monday, May 28, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Paul was born June 5, 1914 in New Haven, IA. He was the last surviving child of John and Angeline (Miller) Johanns. Paul was married to Elizabeth Adams on Feb. 8, 1938 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer. Paul farmed in the New Haven area and retired in Osage. He loved to fish and do woodworking. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; five brothers; a son, Leonard; and a granddaughter, Lori. His wife, Elizabeth, Osage, survives him. They had twelve children; Angeline Nolda of Lamont, IA, Leonard Johanns (now deceased) and his wife, Bonnie of Charles City, Robert Johanns and wife, Donna of Strawberry Point, Larry Johanns of St. Paul, MN, Therese Tinkey and her husband, La Vern of Lamont, Leo Johanns and wife, Cathy of Cedar Rapids, Mary Adams and her husband, Harold Ritscher of Keystone, IA, David Johanns of Osage, Rita Hanke and her husband, Robert of Little Cedar, Paul Johanns, Jr. and his wife, Erin of Marion, Joe Johanns and wife, Jodi of Austin, MN, Rose Decklever and her husband, Mike of Rochester, MN.
