OBITUARY: Maurine (Jensen) Moore, Mitchell County, Iowa [ Mitchell County Press online at www.mcpress.com 5/29/2001 ] Maurine (Jensen) Moore [1914-2001] Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar for Maurine Moore, age 87, of St. Ansgar. Rev. Ted Stowers officiated. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Maurine died Saturday, May 26, 2001 at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, in charge of arrangements. Maurine was born March 14, 1914 in Otranto Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Cecelia (Hansen) Jensen. She attended school in Otranto and graduated from Carptenter High School in 1932. She attended college in Cedar Falls and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Education from Wartburg College. Maurine taught elementary school for 45 years mostly in Otranto, later in St. Ansgar. She enjoyed participating in various community and church activities some of which were Alpha Delta Kappa, Retired Teachers Association, St. Ansgar Womens Club and her church circle. Hand piecing quilts was her hobby and passion during retirement. Preceding her in death were her parents; and brothers, Orlo, Merle and Harold Jensen. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn and Jack Edgington, Sheri and Bob McNutt and Judy and David Goplerud all of St. Ansgar; seven grandchildren, Chris and wife, Vanessa, Alex and Elizabeth Edgington; Tom and wife, Melissa, Larissa, Bridgette, Samantha and Abagail Edgington, Anne and husband, Jim and Stephanie and Matthew McMillian; Greg and wife, Kaye, Kaitlyn and Hannah Goplerud, Kari and husband, Russ, Jordan and Gayle Nelson, Matt and wife, Jennifer and Megan McNutt; Heidi and husband, Jeff Kaisand; brothers, Art and Evelyn and Clarence and Wylma Jensen; and sisters, Edna Beuerman and Helene Johnson; sisters-in-law, Della Jensen and Ruth Jensen; many nieces and nephews. ************************************************************** Copyright (c) 2001 by Kermit Kittleson.
