OBITUARY: Lillian Vandruff Mussetter, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press and Osage News; Osage, Iowa Mitchell County] Thursday, August 29, 1935 Lillian Vandruff Mussetter [1869-1935] Lillian Vandruff was born August 21, 1869, at Williamstown, Mo., daughter of George and Sarah Vandruff. Here she grew to womanhood and married Lilburn W. Mussetter. They moved to Mitchell county, Iowa, in 1893, locating at Little Cedar, where her husband preceded her in death thirty-three years. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive; Harley, Mrs. S. A. Dierdorff, Mrs. A. S. Balsley, and Eveleen. There are also three grandchildren, two sisters, and one brother. She united early in life with the Christian church, and later transferred her membership to the Baptist church in Little Cedar. Her quiet life and patient suffering attested to her Christian faith. Death came peacefully to her August 21, on the eve of her 66th birthday, climaxing an illness of nine years' duration, the last five of which she had been a helpless invalid. For the past year she had tender care at the Williams Bigelow home in Osage. Funeral services were held at the Champion funeral home Friday, August 23, at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. John D. Kern, pastor of the Baptist church. Interment was made in the Little Cedar Cemetery. Copyright (c) 2001 by Kermit Kittleson. This copy contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives.
