OBITUARY: Elaine Ruth (Wilde) Pike, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press-News,www.mcpress.com, Posted Aug. 14, 2001] Elaine Ruth (Wilde) Pike [1922-2001] Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, for Elaine Ruth Pike, age 79. Rev. Robert Porisch officiated and burial was in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery, St. Ansgar. She died August 11, 2001 at the home of her daughter in Brownsdale, MN. Schroeder-Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, was in charge of arrangements. Elaine Ruth Wilde was born July 9, 1922 to Walter and Helena (Diedrich) Wilde on the family farm in Mitchell County, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Church, Rock Township. She was married on Oct. 7, 1945 to Lawrence Leonard Pike at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Township. Three children were born to this union, Linda Faye, Helen Marie and Wayne Erwin. Elaine was a member of the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. Elaine was a housewife and mother working only from her home doing daycare and sewing. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother always thinking of others, treating people equally. Family was important to her as well as her friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Lois Beyer; two brothers, LaVerne and Roland. Those that survive her include one son, Wayne and wife, Rhonda of Sparta, WI; two daughters, Linda Unverzagt and her husband, Edward of Brownsdale, MN, Helen Pike of Austin, MN; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
