OBITUARY: Elmer Ernest Edwin Rieck, Mitchell County, Iowa (St. Ansgar Enterprise, St. Ansgar, Iowa; 5 MAR 1992 ) Elmer Ernest Edwin Rieck [1911-1992] Surnames: Krause Rieck Boettcher Knoll Funeral services for Elmer Rieck, 80, who died February 26 [1992] at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held February 29, 1992 at 1:30 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with the Rev. Gregory Bjornstad officiating. Elmer Ernest Edwin Rieck was born on a farm northwest of Grafton April 28, 1911 the son of Otto and Martha Krause Rieck. He was baptized by Rev. John Landdeck. When he was an infant his folks moved to a farm northeast of Grafton. He was confirmed at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton April 10, 1927 by Rev. Carl Landdeck. He went to school in Union Township near Grafton. February 1, 1942, he was united in marriage to Gladys Knoll of St. Ansgar in the Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, Minn. by the Rev. W.J. Stromberg. They made their home on his father's farm near Grafton. Mr. Rieck is survived by a sister, Matie Boettcher of Grafton and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys, and one sister and one brother. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
