OBITUARY: Bessie (Orth) Schulz, Mitchell County, Iowa

               Bessie (Orth) Schulz [1917-2001]

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Faith Lutheran Church in
Mitchell for Bessie Schulz, age 83, of Osage, formerly of Mitchell. Rev. Rose
Marie Nack officiated. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell.
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, in charge of arrangements. Bessie died
Sunday, June 3, 2001 at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Racine, WI the daughter of John Sr. and Marye
(Talsky) Orth. The family moved from Racine to Mitchell where she was raised.
She graduated from Mitchell High School. On Dec. 5, 1936 Bessie married Carl
'Scoop' Schulz in Mitchell. They lived their entire married life in Mitchell
County. The couple owned a grocery store in Mitchell. She was a member of
Faith Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl 'Scoop' Schulz on
Oct. 1, 1989; a brother, John Orth, Jr.

Those that survive her include her sister, Rose Mary Ellingson of Northwood;
several nieces and nephews.
