OBITUARY: Wilma B. Snyder, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press Online, obituary, May 2, 2001, www.mcpress.com] Wilma B. Snyder [1900-2001] Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 403 State Street, Osage, for Wilma B. Snyder, age 101, who died Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Osage Rehabilitation Center, Osage. Rev. Christian F. Gugel officiated and interment was in the Osage Cemetery. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Wilma was born Feb. 23, 1900 in Gladbrook, Iowa the daughter of August and Anna (Arp) Ketelsen. She married Earl Snyder on October 3, 1924 in Osage. They lived south of Osage on Cedar Street. Earl died in 1950. Wilma always had a big garden and worked as an egg candler at the Osage Produce retiring in 1965. In 1997 she and her daughter, Irene Ogden bought a house together. She broke her hip and after getting out of the hospital went to the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage for therapy. Wilma liked it so much there she chose to stay as a resident. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Earl in 1950; a sister; and two brothers; a grandson Dick Ogden and a son-in-law, Leo Ogden. Those that survive her include a daughter, Irene Ogden of Osage; a sister, Loraine Busch of California; two grandchildren, Deb Pape of Osage and Daniel Ogden and wife, LaDonna of Osage; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
