OBITUARY: Kermit Trettin, Mitchell County, Iowa (St. Ansgar Enterprise, St. Ansgar, Iowa; 1 AUG 1991) Kermit Trettin [1918-1991] Funeral services for Kermit Trettin, 73, of Grafton, who died Wednesday, July 24 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, July 27 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with the Rev. Gregory Bjornstad officiating. Kermit Trettin was born April 28, 1918 near Grafton in the same home where he lived all his life. He attneded Grafton schools and graduated from Grafton High School He married Olive Wheeler on september 15, 1942 at St. Joseph, Missouri, and they made their home on the farm near Grafton. He was a ham radio operator. Survivors include his wife, Olive of Grafton; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Mardell) Porter of Sandusky, Ohio; two sons, Robert of Waterloo and Thomas of Fairfax, Virginia, and five grandchildren.
