OBITUARY: Alfrieda Ida Marie Walk, Mitchell County, Iowa (St. Ansgar Enterprise-Journal, St. Ansgar, Iowa; 2 JAN 1992) Alfrieda Ida Marie Walk Alfrieda Ida Marie Walk, 80, Northwood, died Tuesday, December 24 [1991] at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mason City. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.. Saturday, December 28 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with the Rev. Gregory Bjornstad officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery. Alfrieda Ida Marie Walk was born November 26, 1911 in Barton Township, Worth County, the daughter of Martin and Emelia (Hartwig) Walk. She was baptized January 3, 1912 by the Rev. John Landdeck and confirmed April 10, 1927 by Rev. Landdeck in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. She attended rural schools in Barton Township, Worth County. Alfrieda took care of her mother and the house work. She also helped out on the family farm. She resided in rural Worth County until the fall of 1965 at which time she moved to Northwood. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, Bolan Circle and the Northwood Senior Citizens. Alfrieda is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Richard, Robert and Erwin Walk; and two sisters, Hedwig Dalluge and Henrietta Jordan. ************************************************************** Copyright (c) 2001 by Kermit Kittleson.
