OBITUARY: Adrian, Alfred Albert, Mitchell County, Iowa (Mason City Globe Gazette) ADRIAN, Alfred Albert Funeral services for a former Mitchell County resident, Alfred Adrian, 81, were held in Santa Monica, California January 4. Alfred Albert Adrian, the son of Julius and Mary Adrian, was born in Mitchell County, January 1, 1885, near Osage. He grew to manhood in the Osage area, and on May 3, 1911, was married to Bertha Troge at St. John's Lutheran church southwest of Osage. They lived in the Osage area, farming until 1926 when they moved to Leroy. They returned to Osage in 1931, and in 1945 they moved to Santa Monica, where Mr. Adrian was employed at Douglas Aircraft Corp., in World War II. He suffered a heart attack December 12, and died in Santa Monica Jan. 1, on his 81st birthday. Survivors are his wife Bertha; two daughters, Irene, Mrs. Adam Czako, and Dorthylee, Mrs. Bill Jeffers of Woodland Hills, Calif., 10 grandchildren, and one brother, Will Adrian of Osage. He was preceded by his parents; one son, Virgil Adrian of Baudette, Minn., formerly of Carpenter; two sisters, Ana, Mrs. Martin Hultman, and Minnie Adrian, and one brother Herman Adrian of Osage.
