OBITUARY: Jessie Maude Coon Alchon, Mitchell County, Iowa (Mason City Globe Gazette) Jessie Maude Coon Alchon Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Maude Alchon, 85, who died at Mitchell County Memorial hospital Saturday. Mrs. Alchon had been confined to the hospital several weeks after breaking her hip at her home. The Rev. Norman Brooks, pastor of the Congregational church, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Osage cemetery. Jessie Maude Coon was born at Mitchell, June 7, 1880, the youngest of the seven children of Darius and Elizabeth Van Loan Coon. She was educated in the Mitchell schools. She was united in marriage to Guy Alchon May 28, 1904, in Osage. They established their home here. She was active in the Congregational church, Rebekah lodge, Royal Neighbors and Naturalist club. Preceding her in death were her husband, Guy, who died one year ago, her daughter, Cora Alchon Mills, who died in 1956 and by her parents. One son, Bernard Alchon of Highland Park, Ill., three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren are her survivors.
