OBITUARY: Carra May Bacon-Ross, Mitchell County, Iowa Carra May Bacon-Ross [1859-1924] MRS. JOHN T. ROSS OBITUARY Talented Mitchell Lady Will Be Greatly Missed in Community in Which She Lived. Carra May Bacon-Ross, wife of John T. Ross, was born April 10, 1859 at Janesville, Rock county, Wis. and departed from this life on Feb. 25, 1924, at 8:30 p.m. At an early age she moved to Waterloo, Iowa with her parents, where she started her musical education at the age of eight years. At fourteen, she was sent by Prof. Parker to Clarksville, to take a class of fourteen pupils, whom she taught for six months. She then returned to Waterloo for teachers training and was graduated from the conservatory of music at that place. In 1877 she was united in marriage with John T. Ross at Webster City. To this union were born three daughters - Maude B. Redman of Waterloo, Mable J. Miller of Vinton, La., and Marguerite B. Eastman of St. Paul, Minn.
