OBITUARY: Emma Williamina F. Bartz, Mitchell County, Iowa BARTZ, Emma Williamina Friedrika Funeral services for Emma Bartz, 95, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, Jan. 15 were held Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar. The Rev. Norman Betke church pastor, was in charge of the services, and burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery. Emma Williamina Friedrika Bartz, was born March 27, 1870 in Newburg township, near St. Ansgar. She was baptized in early infancy and confirmed by the Rev. Zalinger at St. John's Lutheran church in Rock township. She remained a member of the Lutheran church, joining with Immanuel Lutheran after moving to St. Ansgar with her father and sister in 1907. For many years Emma worked as a seamstress. She remained in good health until Oct. 1, 1965, when she fell and broke her hip. She was confined to Mitchell County Memorial hospital until she was transferred to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.
