OBITUARY: Charles Frederick Decklever, Mitchell County, Iowa Charles Frederick Decklever [1887-c1966] Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church for Charles Decklever, 78 of Osage, who died of a heart attack Sunday. Mr. Decklever had been released from Mitchell County Memorial hospital after several weeks of convalescence. The Rev. Edward M. Lang, church pastor was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Osage cemetery. Charles Frederick Decklever, the son of Carl and Bertha Krueger Decklever, was born March 25, 1887, in Union township, Mitchell County. He was baptized April 10, 1997, by the Rev. Johannes Landgrebe at St. Peters Lutheran church in Toterville and was confirmed by his Palm Sunday, 1901. Mr. Decklever attended Spring Valley School and helped his father with farming. He then moved to Osage where he lived for more than 50 years. In World War I he served in the infantry. He worked for the city of Osage for 31 years. He was married to Mary Richardson in Osage, Jan. 16, 1927. She died May 21, 1956. He was united in matrimony to Mrs. Elizabeth Dort, Jan. 21, 1961. They resided at 208 State street in Osage. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth, two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Baldner of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Cora Baldwin of Osage.
