OBITUARY: James E. Delaney, Mitchell County, Iowa



                 James E. Delaney  [1896-c1966]

A former Mitchell County resident, Jim DeLaney, 70, died Saturday night 
in Los Angeles, following an illness of several months. 

Funeral services and burial were in the Los Angeles area. 

James E. Delaney was born on the Delaney family farm, Feb. 7, 1896, the son 
of J. D. and Mary Ekford Delaney. He was married here to Mabel Gleason. The 
family left this area in 1942 and Mr. Delaney engaged in work in a war 
plant, remaining in California until the present. 

He is survived by his wife, Mabel of Los Angeles; one son Everald (Spud), 
two grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Katherine Mahone of Fayetteville, 
Ark.
