[ Mason City Globe Gazette Online Obituaries ] Monday, May 17, 1999 ALICE KUNTZ ST. ANSGAR - Alice Kuntz, age 86, of St. Ansgar, died Friday (May 14, 1999) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, with the Rev. Kathy Larson and the Rev. Rose Marie Nack officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery, Grafton. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar. Alice Augusta Wilde Kuntz was born April 7, 1913, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wilde in Mitchell County, Iowa. She was baptized on May 4, 1913, by Pastor G.A. Bischoff, and confirmed May 29, 1927, by Pastor J. Gemachlich. Alice was married Sept. 15, 1935, to Earl Kuntz at the St. Johns Rock Creek Church, Grafton. They farmed in the Grafton area until 1969, when they moved to an acreage in the Carpenter area. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, and their 45th wedding anniversary at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter. She was a member of the Deer Creek Lutheran Church. She is survived by three living children, Garry and wife, Helen, St. Ansgar, Harlan and wife, Marsha, St. Ansgar, and Cleone and husband, Duane King, Floyd; eight grandchildren, Vicki and husband, Dan Clark, Plymouth, Rhonda and husband, Lynn Hemann, Osage, Tammy and husband, Curt Clausen, Mason City, Daniel King and wife, Angela, Union Grove, Ala., Sarah and husband, Robert Schmidt, Owatonna, Minn., Rachel and husband, Greg Richards, Waverly, and Jeremy and Jason Kuntz, St. Ansgar There are five great-grandchildren, Amber and T.J. Clark, Ivy and Jake Hemann and Jess Clausen. She is also survived by two sisters, Wilma Hackbart, Grafton, and Vianora Feldt, Osage; one brother, Irvin Wilde, Osage; and many other friends and relatives. Her family, Lord and church were very precious to her. She loved to help people and will be well remembered for her quilts, pies and cookies. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl, in 1983; a son, Craig, in 1956, and a son, Joel, in 1948; and four brothers, Arnold, Ferdinand, Elmer and Roy Wilde.
