OBITUARY: Bertha Lunde, Mitchell County, Iowa [ St. Ansgar Enterprise, 3 APR 1980] Bertha Lunde [1893-1980] Funeral services for Bertha Lunde, 86, longtime Mona resident, who died March 28 at the Heritage nursing Home in Mason City, were held April 1 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating. Bertha Lunde, daughter of Halvor and Martha Lunde, was born May 12, 1893 in Otranto township, Mitchell County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran Church. She attended Mona public school and lived in Mona most of her life. Miss Lunde was a member of the ALCW and Dorcas Society of Mona Lutheran. She is survived by six nephews: Hugh Lunde of Illinois, Henry Lunde of Burlington, Richard Lunde of Osage, Lloyd Lugg of Ventura, Calif., Henry Lunde of San Diego, Calif. and John Eby of Monroe, Mich.; also five nieces: Mrs. David (Mry) Bodi of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Charles (Irene) Baird of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Alex (Bernadine) Bellender of Mason City, Miss Alva Lunde of San Diego, Calif. and Mrs. Norman Twiet of Manchester, Mo. Miss Lunde was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Julia Lugg and Annie Eby; four brothers, Halvor, Jr., Henry, Ole and one who died in infancy. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, with Rev. Grant in charge of committal services.
