OBITUARY: Lois Ann Nicholas, Mitchell County, Iowa Lois Ann Nicholas 1843-1925 MRS. NICHOLAS PASSED AWAY Former Resident of East State Street Buried in Osage Cemetery Last Saturday. Mrs Lois Ann Nicholas was born Jan. 2, 1843, at London, Ontario, and died at Independence, Iowa, Wednesday, April 8, 1925, being 82 years, 3 months and 6 days old at the time of her death. She came to Osage some forty years ago from Detroit, Mich. Left to mourn her death are her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Whitaker; one grandson, Chas. H. Whitaker; one granddaughter, Mrs. H. G. Baalson and Harry Whitaker preceded her in death. One sister is still living in Detroit. Mrs Nicholas was a member of the Baptist church for a good many years and her daughter pays her the worthy tribute of being a good mother. She was buried Saturday afternoon from the Gallup & Shelledy parlors. Rev. E. H. Koster conducting the service and burial was in our cemetery. (April 16, 1925 Mitchell Co. Press.)
