OBITUARY: John Robert Paulson, Mitchell County, Iowa (St. Ansgar Enterprise, St. Ansgar, Iowa; 3 MAR 1977 ) John Robert Paulson Funeral services for John R. Paulson, 84, who died at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, Feb. 21, were held Feb. 24 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona. John Robert Paulson, son of Bert and Anna Paulson, was born Dec. 11, 1892. He spent his childhood near Hastings, Minn., and served in the U.S. Army during World War I. November 16, 1920 he married Berniece Helgeson. They moved to Lyle in 1926 where they resided until the early 1950's when they moved to Chicago, Ill. In 1958 they purchased a home on Sibley Lake near Pequot Lakes, Minn. They moved back to Lyle in 1969, where he was proprietor of the Lyle Bakery for over 25 years. Mr. Paulson was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle and the Lyle American Legion Post 105. He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Walter (Shirley) Norregaard and Mrs. Ronald (Doris) Harris of Lyle and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Pugh of Buchanan, Tenn.; also 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Bauer of Racine, Wis. and Mrs. Annabelle James of Covina, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece, one brother and one sister and three grandchildren. Relatives coming from a distance were from Babbitt, Alexandria, Owatonna, Ellendale, Clarks Grove, Albert Lea, Hollandale and Austin, Minn.; Buchanan, Paris, and McKenzie, all in Tennessee.
