OBITUARY: Martin Simon, Mitchell County, Iowa

                            Martin Simon

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002 at Visitation Catholic
Church in Stacyville for Martin "Teenie" Simon, age 86, of Stacyville.
Rev. Joseph Schneider officiated. Interment was in the Visitation Catholic
Cemetery, Stacyville. He died Sat. Jan. 5, 2002 at the Stacyville Community
Nursing Home. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, in charge of
arrangements.

Martin "Tennie" Simon was born Nov. 11, 1915 at Stacyville the son of Jacob
and Anna (Heaman) Simon. Martin was a lifelong Stacyville resident attending
Catholic School and graduating from Visitation Catholic High School.

He was an avid fisherman and cribbage player. He was a member of Visitation
Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant sister, Angeline; a
sister, Marcelline Miller and a brother, Ralph Simon.

Those that survive him include his two sisters, Elizabeth Taylor of Waterloo
and Margaret Anderson and her husband, James of Cedar Falls; a brother,
Alfred Simon of Austin, MN; many nieces and nephews.
