OBITUARY: Miss May L. Byrnes, Mitchell County, Iowa MAY L. BYRNES OSAGE--Miss May L. Byrnes, 76 died Friday (Dec. 18, 1964) at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. She had suffered a heart attack Sunday. Born near New Haven, May 1, 1888, she was the daughter of James and Katherine Byrnes. She was graduated from St. Mary's High School in New Haven and From Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught school more than 40 years and until recently was a substitute teacher in the Osage Schools. Surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Peter Miller, New Haven; Sr. Isadore, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. W. E. (Eddie) Rogers, Osage; Mrs. F. J. Robinson, Winslow Ariz.; Miss Cecilia Byrnes, Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Osage. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Champion Funeral Home in charge.
