OBITUARY: Dorothy D. Kindschuh, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press-News, online, www.mcpress.com, Posted Apr. 24, 2002] Dorothy D. Kindschuh Funeral services were held for Dorothy D. "Doudna" Kindschuh, age 76, of Osage on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church in Osage. Rev. Karen Nichols Dungan officiated. Interment was in the Osage cemetery. Dorothy died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Dorothy was born March 13, 1926, in Burr Oak Township near Osage, the daughter of Vivian and Anna (Benson) Doudna. She graduated from Osage High School in 1943, and following graduation worked as a secretary for Osage High School for three years. She was a secretary for Marr Knitting Mill in Osage from 1946 to 1970. Dorothy was united in marriage to Dean Kindschuh on November 19, 1950, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage where she was a member. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the fall of 2000. Dorothy worked in the Mitchell County Auditor's Office from 1970 to 1979, and was appointed Mitchell County Auditor in 1979 retiring in 1988. She enjoyed attending the different events of her nieces and nephews. She found great pleasure in gardening and spending time with close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and LaVonne Doudna. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Dean Kindschuh of Osage; one sister Ann Lewis and husband Robert of Osage; three nieces, Karen Brumm and husband Richard, Kathy Lessard, Dawn Lewis; five nephews, James Doudna and wife Kathy, Donald Doudna and wife Barbara, Michael Lewis and wife Kim, David Lewis, Daniel Lewis and wife Kelly; 22 great nieces and nephews and special friend, Emily.
