OBITUARY: Marvel A. Lesch, Mitchell County, Iowa Marvel A. Lesch [ Mitchell County Press online -- Posted July 10, 2002 www.mcpress.com ] Funeral services for Marvel A. Lesch, 87, of Osage and Waterloo were held Monday, July 8, 2002, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage. Reverend Dennis Hanson officiated. Interment was in the Osage Cemetery. Marvel died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center. She was born Nov. 15, 1914, on the family farm south of Osage, the daughter of Alfred Henry and Louise Carolyn (Troge) Lesch. She attended the Cedar #1 rural school and graduated with the class of 1932 from Osage High School. She took Normal Training in high school and then taught in rural schools in Mitchell and Floyd Counties. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree then taught for various schools including Thor, Zwingle, Fairfield and for many years in the Waterloo School System. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage and the Martha Circle there, numerous gem and mineral clubs and numerous Audubon Society clubs. Marvel was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ralph and W. Francis Lesch, a brother-in-law John Feldpouch and sister-in-law Margie Lesch. Survivors include one sister, Irva Feldpouch of Osage and Waterloo, a niece Kay Johnson of Charles City and numerous cousins.
