OBITUARY: Andrew John Philipp, Mitchell County, Iowa Andrew John Philipp [ Mitchell County Press online -- Posted July 3, 2002 www.mcpress.com ] Funeral services were held for Andrew John Philipp, age 27, of Tulsa, OK on Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at 2 pm at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Hope officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Rudd. Andrew was born to Roland and Brigitte (Schmahl) Philipp of Osage on September 4, 1974. He graduated from Osage Community High School where he was active in the school band program. Andrew also enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, fishing and hunting. An avid downhill skier, Andrew attended Western State College in Gunnison, CO while working as a ski instructor at Crested Butte Resort in Colorado. Leaving Gunnison Andrew moved to Tulsa, where he lived with his brother Douglas and became a master automobile and home audio electronics installer. Andrew achieved national certification for his skill in audio installation and received numerous awards for his work. He was noted for his outstanding generosity and willingness to help others no matter what. Andrew leaves behind a host of people who consider themselves blessed to have known him. These people include his parents Roland and Brigitte Philipp of Osage, his grandfather John Schmahl of Kamiah, ID; and his siblings which include Steven of London, England, and his wife Alexis and their children Peregrin, Benedict and Madeleine, Douglas of Colorado Springs, CO, Deborah Randall also of Colorado Springs, CO and her husband Steve, Timothy of Osage and his wife Cindy and their children Emily, Joshua, Zachary, Samuel and Grace. Andrew will be greatly missed because he enriched so many lives. He had a huge heart and it stopped long before it should have. Champion-Bucheit Funeal Home is in charge of arrangements.
