OBITUARY: James W. Reynolds, Mitchell County, Iowa James W. Reynolds [ Mitchell County Press-News online -- Posted Sept. 4, 2002 ] Funeral services for James W. Reynolds, age 89, of Stacyville were held Friday, August 30, 2002 at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. Father Mark Reasoner officiated. Interment was in Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Stacyville . He died Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home. Reynolds was born January 11, 1913 in Madison, WI, the son of Preston A. and Mabel (Owens) Reynolds. He attended schools in Madison and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, after which he attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI. James was employed as an accountant for General Motors, working in offices in Janesville, WI, Bay City and Flint, MI and Milwaukee, WI, retiring in 1972. He was united in marriage to Helen S. Pitzen on February 18, 1939 in Janesville, WI. Following retirement they lived in Roswell, NM, Bellevue, NE, Osage and then moved to Stacyville in 1988. He was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville and the Knights of Columbus in which he was awarded the status of Honorary Life Membership on April 1, 1986. James was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Helen S. Reynolds of Stacyville and one son William Reynolds of Chicago, IL.
